I think it is mostly good news.

Potential positives:

  • infusion of investment into Lotus cars, including shortening the time frame for model year 2020 Elise
  • potential increased dealer network in U.S., sharing with Volvo dealers.  Currently many U.S. dealers are dropping like flies. 
  • parts sharing with Volvo

One big negative:

  • Geely may try to move production of Lotus cars to China, as they are trying to do with Volvo.  Not that Lotus cars are so well put together, but some people like the "handbuilt in England" thing.
