I wish this were properly documented and then explained:

Supposedly the 997S wheel has a smaller *grip* diameter than the non-S ("grip diameter" is the diameter of the part of the wheel you wrap your hand around).

If the "hotter" S road car has been given a thinner wheel than the non-S! Why did they do this? Also, why would a thicker wheel be better for a track car where feedback from car is soooo much more important?

Especially since Porsche's steering is supposed to be so refined and precise I think I'd want to work it more with my fingertips than my forearms.
