As for the manual, Porsche lost  forever one manual customer with the GT4 gear ratios, even though Grant maintains the Gt3 will have a better lower set, I won't take that chanceSmiley

The ratios are fundamentally dictated by the number of gears, the top speed, and the redline.  The GT3 more or less shares the first two attributes with the GT4, but the much higher redline of the GT3 is the reason for the better ratios in the GT3 (and the GT3's greater torque means it pulls those better ratios much better).  The GT3 even makes pretty good torque from 2,500 rpm (hugely more than even current RS with same displacement)...
