My point is that increasing the power (or torque) of a car has "diminishing rates of return". You know, increasing the power of a car from 100hp to 200hp does make a substantial difference. The difference in real life performance between 200hp and 300hp is smaller. The same applies to the jump from 400hp to 500hp.

In other words, increasing the power by another 100hp in general does not make that huge of an impact as one would expect by comparing the numbers on paper. Or to be fair, the differences only crystallize at higher and higher speeds. Just my experience
