I recently replaced the Michelin PS2 rear tires on my 2005 Carrera S with BRIDGESTONE RE960. This tire has a higher treadwear rating (400 versus 220 with Michelin), comes in the oem 295-30-13 size, is MUCH more quieter/smoother than than Michelin and costs $319 a piece on www.tirerack.com (versus $479 for Michelin). Everyone raves about the Michelins, but after 10,000 miles they ride like a buckboard and are extremely loud. Maybe they are great for tracking, but for an combined smooth ride with fantastic performance, I'd highly recommend the Bridgestone RE960.
