About 4 weeks ago a young lady, who was changing her CD, drove into the back of my 997S whilst I was stationary at a pedestrian crossing.

My car was dented round the drivers side rear but it didn't actually look all that bad.

I had a call from my Porsche approved body shop today to tell me that my car would be ready next week and I asked what the cost of repairs had been. I was somewhat shocked to hear that the slow speed rear-end shunt had cost Pounds23,000 that's nearly $50,000 for our US brothers and sisters.

Apparently its quite common on 911s but even a relatively minor rear-end can result in cracks to the cylinder heads which is where some of the cost has obviously gone.

I am now slightly concerned about having had a third of the car's original cost spent on repairing it.

Oh well new one on its way in September so shouldn't be my problem.
