The 911 R engine will be pretty much the same Porsche has in their inventory, with some adaptation to different thermodynamics (lack of side vents) and manual transmission.

Don't forget that in the past (many decades ago), the emissions/noise regulations were not even close to the current restrictions. So it was pretty easy for Porsche to use a certain (racing derived) setup. These times have gone...a long time ago.

    All valid arguments. I still hope Porsche will surprise us with something exciting. Well few weeks more and the long wait will be over. Btw latest rumor  I heard is that the production number is between 900 and 1000 .
