The engine has been running in the IMSA United Sports Car Series for the past two years, so they should have some good performance data to build on. 

I think Rossi was referring to the fact that the turbo V6 is somewhat uninspiring for a supercar, irrespective of how it actually goes.  I guess the collectors who will get this Ford won't care that much.... 


Exactly. V6-turbo just doesn't do it for in such a car. Turbo-six is nice for a 911, but not for a car like this. Remember the fabulous Jaguar XJ220? Looks to die for and originally planned with a mighty V12, which was finally replaced by a boring V6-turbo. Though based on a racing engine this engine broke the neck of the whole XJ220 project and the Jag could never hold a candle to cars like a F40. I have a strong suspicion that it will the same in case of the new Ford GT.
