The design of the wheel actually changes with the black color and if you use matte black, the design is actually visible quite well. It is hidden with metallic paint colors or simple black (which still has some shine in it).

I love black wheels but I can understand why some people don't like them, maybe even depending on their age and region background. Black rims often remind people of cheap steel rims without a cover and I get that but we have 2013 now and I think the difference is clearly visible...and noticeable.

Like colors, this seems to be a matter of personal taste, so we shouldn't really start argueing about it. Some like it, some don't and gladly, Porsche offers something for both sides.
