Be that as it may,
I think that the LaFerrari and the P1 are cars which are a repetition of something that has been done before, without any fantasy about what to achieve: "just" another hypercar.
The 918 on the other hand is a car that seeks to explore boundaries, new technologies, new ways of thinking.
In a way, I think that will differ it from it's rivals.

Yes, I agree that there may not be that many potential customers who bother about fuel efficiency in a hypercar, so in that way, it is an answer to a question never asked. On the other hand, I admire Porsche for daring to steer in this direction, and it might create a question... I mean, at the start the iPhone was also a answer to a question noone asked, wasn't it?
