am pleasantly surprised with Ruf's new models.

their V8 motor in the 991-based RGT8 must make for an interesting drive, and the 630HP PDK Turbo in the 991-based RT35 continues the theme set by the RT12, wherein Ruf introduced a turbo model before Porsche's "official" 911 Turbo.

at 3.8L and PDK, it seems the RT35 uses the 997.2's DFI motor.

it would have been interesting if they did a 991 based wide body car, but using the old Mezger engine in say, 700hp tune.  that way you get the best of both worlds-- the new platform, but with the tried and tested GT1 block.  of course it would be in manual not PDK, but i'm sure there would be interest in such a combination (991 + Mezger block).
