As I noted in my post, this is just one of many opinions - all of which should be taken with a pinch of salt. In the end, it all comes down to personal preference. My advice would be to drive a properly-specced 997 and 991 Carrera S back to back and form your own conclusions. Try to include as many variations as you can, i.e. PDK vs. manual, SPASM vs. PASM, etc - and try not to be swayed by other people's opinions, no matter how "authoritative" they might appear to be.
