Just picked up the Oct. CAR magazine for reading on a flight... their (passenger seat only) test of the 991 by Kacher, notes that W. Rohrl had difficulty in putting the 991 easily into a small slide.  Achleitner is quoted as saying that "hooligan mode" is no longer part of the car's character the way it was in older 911s.  Kacher writes that the 991 is "a talented carver, but no longer a casual slider".

Still a bit early to make pronouncements until we all drive one ourselves, but it does seem to back up the worry of some on RT that the longer wheelbase, and evolution towards more of a GT car, carries some risk of losing some parts of the 911 character that some owners at least did not want to lose.
