 I think he is talking about moving the engine a bit further to the middle given the new chassis, but it will always be far from mid engined.

 

At the limit... the engine has to be a distance equal to the radius of the diff box + the clutch thickness behind the rear axle, to stay with the current architecture. Therefore, given that the WB is larger, the distance between the front axle and the engine has increased.
