I have to agree about the inappropriate use of the  "R" designation. One definitely gets the impression that marketing was looking for a historical designation for this model even if it is devoid of historical susbstance.  As others have stated this could be the harbinger of a rather unfortunate trend, which is surprising given that Porsche protects its "brand image" quite zealously.  How can posting an order guide on the internet be more problematic for Porsche than marketing a souffle R?
