RC:

The Cayenne GTS was a very clever move from Porsche and I never actually understood why people would pay almost a Turbo price for a much slower car.

Marketing is very very important. If you make people believe something, they take the bite. The Cayenne GTS is actually the best example how Porsche marketing put a bait out there and customers took it. Not really being a bad product at all and making the customers believe that they buy the sportiest Cayenne available, the GTS actually took off pretty well.

In my opinion, the 997 Carrera GTS is .......... a product at it's lifecycle end and they may regret the decision going for it as soon as the 991 shows up.

The Cayenne GTS was simply the best looking Cayenne of the first generation and that is why it sold. Sound did not hurt either.

The 997 Carrera GTS is a wingless RWD wide body and that alone will always make it special, all the other mechanical bits just justify the label GTS, When the 991 comes out the C2S will have the same performance but it will NOT be a wide body.

As far as life cycle how many late buyers of the 993 regret that decision over an early model 996.Smiley
