Actually, a small turbo engine would make more sense in the Boxster/Cayman segment. Base-S-turbo. In the 911 line it would rather confuse customers.

My 2c: If the engine only needs to produce 350hp, I suspect that most drivers would prefer a higher-revving, more spontaneous normally-aspirated engine to a turbo engine with a similar power figure.
This of course does not mean that a turbo might not make sense as a means of reducing a production fleet's overall fuel consumption figures, as mooted above.
