Kudos to Top Gear....Merc should be ridiculed if it can't even field a roughly $200K press car (based on a fundamentally 4yo design) without glaring quality failures .

Over past 5 yrs, I've owned many CL/S/SL/E55s (and most recently have had a flawless SL55) but my biggest issue w/CL55 is its luxury car steering rack(SL's steering is much, much better). Haven't had chance to drive CL65 yet, but I'd be scared to drive it particularly fast if its steering is anywhere near as sloppy as S/CL55's.

Also, I'd note that CL65 is already only commanding MSRP in NYC mkt (w/no wait list), whereas SL65 is getting $25-30K over list.....problem is that 65's only performance advantage over 55 is really in bursts from 80-150MPH, difficult to frequently enjoy in major US mkts where these $200K commuter cars are sold....65 is really a made-for-German autobahn-only car....at least until you're humiliated as you hit its rather pathetic 155 (or 185)MPH limiter on the autobahn
