Dr. Phil, the beloved and admired Corvette that you are soooo smitten with has the rear suspension of a ox cart, the gearshift linkage of a steamship and run flat farm tractor tires. Its not my fault they can make it run so close to Porsche lap times. Its also not my fault that it beats Ferraris, Aston Martins and Maseratis in FIA GT racing.

Jim, you don't seriously believe that the FIA GT Corvette racing car runs the "rear suspension of a ox cart, the gearshift linkage of a steamship and run flat farm tractor tires" of the street version, do you?

Your references to "forged" cylinder heads in other posts could be just naive ignorance of production engineering processes, but believing that FIA racing versions of road cars are more than just "silouettes" goes far beyond being naive.
