Cool. I hoped I wasn't assuming too much! I have similar seating problems, but at least the 987 wheel adjusts for reach. I'm not sure the 996 does, does it? So you're forced to recline a little to get some distance from the wheel.

Your leather looks pretty worn - would it be possible to get this restored, and at the same time discretely re-shape the top of the seat by putting some extra padding in the bit where your head goes? Probably a specialist job, but might make it more supportive without resorting to a pillow, and retaining the exisiting power seats. You Could possibly also put some padding in the seat base to lift you higher up the back rest. You might lose lateral support though, unless it was done skillfully.

Either that or a 997 seat swap?
