Cayenne V8 BT: Some Impressions
Yesterday I had some time for Cayenne testing. Here are some of my first impressions.
Can you imagine an off-road car being so fast that a BMW M3 E36 is not able to keep up from 0 to 100 kmph? Presupposed you've choosen the right gear before. The automatic transmission shifts back very slowly.
The following picture shows the highest possible suspension niveau which is only available for slow off-raod sections.
And this is the go-shopping level
The traction control works fine, but not as smooth as in the BMW X5. Inclinations and jerky movements can be fatal.
The chassis and the suspension are outstanding. I never drove so fast through an off-road terrain.
The interior:
Welcome home feeling.
Not only beautiful but also practical.
The build quality is incredible.
With some exceptions ...
The Cayenne is definetivly no sportscar. And it's also not the right choice for really hard off-roading. But it might be the perfect compromise.
