Was planning to maybe getting rid of the AMV8 roadster and getting the SL instead but then again by December with the arrival of the 599 I will have one sportscar too many.

First of all if I had a choice and the LP640 and the G-SL was available at the exact same time. I would still pick the LP640 - it what I've always wanted from a Lambo! The SL is 2nd priority, also remember the LP was ordered early last year already where as the SL's has only been debut in Geneva a couple weeks ago.
I had no idea of the G-SL's existance until then. It's just very attractive because of the fact that it will be the ONLY one in the country

More than likely. SA will be getting the GT3 - I have to take the Exige in for a small rattle next week anyway. Will confirm this with the dealer while I'm there.
I wouldn't buy for purely for track purposes only anyway, would be a nice collector IMO.

The Gallardo's shape is very nice. It manages to present itself as a super car and appear practical (!) at the same time. A First for Lamborghini!
Some owners are putting high mileage on them without problems and resale values have improved now that their reputation is getting much better.
