    ZR-1 lapped Laguna Seca

    before the race, I guess to generate some buzz. Like when Nissan GT-R did at Goodwood festival.

    I was there this weekend but didn't see this car Regardless it wass a hell of a race with the RS Spyders challenging the R10 into the last corner of the last lap. Alas the Audi won but the RS Spyder easily took P2 championship.

    Why everyone is calling this a ZR-1?! Wasn't the ZR-1 a car created by corvette way back in the 90s? Isn't this a Z06 or its seccessor the Blue Devil? Am I too old to keep up with new car models? Someone plz help me & enlighten me!

    Rumor has it they are planning on calling it a ZR-1.

    ZR1 and Z06 are (were?) known as RPO's or regular production options.

    RPO 9C1 is what turned a big Chevy Impala into a police car.

    Yes, the Z06 was an option on the 1963 Corvette (36 gallon fuel tank, performance suspension and big brakes). ZR1 and ZR2 packages were available in the early '70s (engine and suspensions I think). So all the designations that are currently used on the Corvettes were used in the past.

    285/30-19 fronts and 335/25-20 rears. You can also get a good look at the CCM brakes front and rear.

    You can see those are definately 2 peice ceramic rotors. I wonder if that will make production? I hope the body style is more dramatic than just a rebranded Z06, something tells me it will, but we will have to wait till January at the Detroit auto show to see the official unveiling

    The Carbon Ceramic rotors should make it to production. GM has a patent on the process for the production of their brakes (unfortunately, I couldn't find the patent, but I did see it a while ago).
    I'm sure the body will be different than the stock Z06. The 335/25-20s will see to that. There is additional fender flaring on this car on the front edge of the rear fenders. They're not on my car. I don't think GM is going to make the mistake of this car looking too much like the normal Z06. I'm thinking more along the lines of C6R.

    They look like the same rear body guards to me! I also run 345's in the rear of my Z06 and they tuck under just perfectly! I like the rims though! Big improvement, I would like a set in black chrome or gunmetal grey

    The Vette is now emerging as a world class sports car. I did a long test drive (100+ miles) of the new 08 C6 and i was very impressed. Heck... I may buy one.

    In CA they have the regular vette C6 on sale for less than $50K, not every single one but some of them. I am not a vette fan but a hell of a car for the money snd I would not mind having one next to my tt
