Sydney back to LAX
Sadly the day of departure approached way too quickly. We had a lot of fun and we hope we were able to share some of that here.
Dreaming already about the future…

sorry that I am late to the party but nonetheless congratulations to your birthday and the completion of 10,000 flight hours. I truly enjoyed the documentary of your trip to Australia! Here is to another year of great pictures and beautiful stories !

Timing is very important. When we took delivery of our RS, everything was perfect. For the first time I bought a car that met my expectations 100%. Every drive in it is filled with excitement. I'm glad I got in near the pinnacle of this generation of Porsche 911 cars.
@Ferdie, some parties get better as the night goes on. 
I hope I will be able to continue posting with this spirit in mind. Thank you for your birthday wishes and your congratulations! 10,000 flight hours means a lot to me.

Location: Beautiful Downtown LA
When the parties are over and the city is empty, the driver of this RS likes ripping through the dark streets of Los Angeles enjoying the raw sound echoing from the tall buildings and through the tunnels. Naturally, sport mode is activated.
Just like the city, my wife keeps reinterpreting herself. Each time I go out with her it feels like she's a new and exciting date and I fall for her all over again.

Yes, it's too bad about the data loss, but the show must go on! Hopefully I will be able to keep sharing the journey as it continues to unfold.

Still missing Australia ...
Even though I enjoy flying in California a lot, I still miss Sydney and the overall atmosphere of Australia. I guess this is what happens when you go somewhere or meet somebody-- you fall in love!
QANTAS just had a sale going and we now have three tickets again from LAX to SYD. We will be arriving in time for Valentine's and for my lovely wife's birthday.
@ Gnil, Joost, Pentium: As always, thank you guys and enjoy your cars! I just finished trickle-charging the Lithium-Ion battery in the RS. The interior still has that new car smell that reminds me so much of the day we took delivery.

It's summer time... 
Time to enjoy the beautiful days at the beach. While cruising along the shoreline you see many nice properties but this one in particular stood out and caught my attention. It is still under construction and will soon be ready for the new happy owner.
Just a few more flight hours before I can pencil in my 11,000th one and I can't wait to take my girl out in the RS this weekend. Maybe Sushi, a movie, and enjoying the RS sound at the red line trough a tunnel.

@RC: Will do! Unfortunately we had heavy rain today which was rather unusual but nice. Listening to the rainfall was very relaxing and a welcome change. I hope your son will have a blast at the shooting range!! An early "Happy Birthday" to him. He has a fantastic dad.
@Enmanuel: Thanks on the 11K :) Having spent so much time in the air as a pilot changes your perspective on things. The last photos came straight out of my iPhone and were resized to widescreen. Just wanted to share the beautiful things in life and the positive spirit that goes along with it. I hope you will have a smooth transition moving from DR to SD. I'm sure you will like it there.

Hot refueling ...
without shutting down the motor saves us time and cycles on the turbine engine.This photo is again fresh from my iPhone from this morning. I flew for almost 5 hours and filled up our aircraft (B3 Airbus Helicopter) with jet fuel three times. What a gas guzzler she is ... almost 60 U.S. Gallons per hour at max. cruise power!!

Great photos as usual. I spent some time in a Eurocopter 130 in April as part of a cruise in NW Australia; beautiful machine and incredibly quiet. But seeing your AStar colors - you could do a Paint to Sample Porsche in the same scheme - how cool would that be!

Btw, I ran into my favorite natives again last weekend; attended the Air Tattoo and had a chat with the guys of the RNLAF Apache Display team, who were friendly enough to allow me up close the gunship :-)
