    Seal Grey opinion

    Dear P brothers, all of you seal grey owners out there, how do you like the color? How others view it? Any regrets?

    Had my car for 10 months - the colour kept its showroom gloss all the way through the 10 months - polishes up well and doesn't show swirl marks... when the sun hits it, shades of purple can be seen.

    My 3rd Seal Gray P-car gets built next week

    I guess that means I like it more than other colors. Always had black before but too much of an effort to keep looking good (means less time driving so not good).

    I like it very much, think it's kind of an elegant color.
    Women seem to comment favorably on it.
    It doesn't show the dirt a lot.
    Some days when I'm in a more flamboyant (HEY LOOK AT ME!!!!) mood I think a more vibrant color would be nice but I take a pill and it passes.

    I just ordered a Seal Grey. They look great when clean and they look dull when dirty. I live in the snowy mountains so the dull is better than dirty look.

    It is Z color to get! Seal Grey / Terracotta, absolute prefect combination. Have it since December 05 and at the last Porsche gathering, all other P owners where astonished form the color combin! Go for it... Blindly!

    Great color, a classic. Although for an extra $2k (roughly) I will do Slate Grey next time.

    My seal grey is on order, but seeing it in person these adjectives come to mind:

    subdued
    calm
    graceful
    elegant
    affluent
    easy

    LOL its not the "best" color IMO just the one I picked I like midnight blue and basalt black but im OCD and need a clean looking car 24/7

    BTW I could say the same about Slate Grey and Atlas Grey two other colors I really like!

    I simply love that colour, very classy and elegant. Some may say, it's just a bit too discreet for a Porsche, but I leave the screaming colours to Ferrari.

    Mine is seal grey - cocoa, which is really a wonderful combination, I love the deep, warm brown in the interior, expecially as it goes very well with seal grey, as seal grey has a slight hint of brown in it. But black interior is also really nice with seal grey.

    Yes SG is a fine color. It is also *announces*itself* the least. IOW, the SG car blends in with other traffic better than all other current P colors (IMO of course).

    No regrets at all, although I did spot an Atlas Grey with Terracotta an that looked rather nice!

    I couldn't give a sh*t whether every car I see is Seal Gray or if mine's the only one. I like it more than the other colors on offer.

    It was my second choice behind my Paint To Sample blue. For the money it is a great color,--easy to live with as well. The reason I couldn't go for it ultimately was that there are so many 911s in a silver or grey metallic out there already. But for a metallic grey,--it is a beautiful color for the 911,--showing off the lives very well!

    Amen, brother Dan, way too many silver, grey and black 911's out there. I always find it amusing how upset people are about my musings on 911 colors or my personal experiences with multiple problems with my 911. You people take these cars way too personally. I have one with so many (seemingly unfixable) problems, one would think that I would be angry, but it is the people on this board who seem angry when I report them.

    Seal Grey rocks!!! Common or not!

    My recommendation, FWIW , get whatever color you love! And if you can afford it- get one in each color! Except for the special order Pink, I haven't seen a color that doesn't look good/great on the 997. Oh, and don't get my color choice, Arctic Silver! ...like beautiful blondes and brunettes- much, much too common.

    This is WAY too long a tale. I chose a color close to Blue Turquoise (non-metallic,--1996 color) but Porsche came back (for the second time) and said they couldn't do it. They now report that they CAN paint the blue turquoise for me (J1) but the production date will be slipped from their earlier promise of 12 May. So,--all bets are off! It's a Euro Delivery so all my plans had to be shelved for now. Pictures? Someday!

    Seal grey is nice but I personally like Atlas slightly more

    I had Seal and just got Atlas. I am happier now! Not so common AND more aggressive! You have to see it on person though. Don't trust the brochure!

    I could'nt order seal grey on my 997tt so ended up with slate grey. Don't see to many of them but it was my next favorite. Stone interior. Any pictures availabe for posting? Opinions welcome. TY

    I think Seal Grey is an outstanding color, but I ended up ordering a different color. Seal Grey was originally my first choice before I placed my order late in October. By that time, I changed my mind and ordered Basalt Black Metallic, mainly because the roads I generally drive on are asphalt, and here in Virginia (USA) the hot summers lead to a lot of road tar getting on the car. It shows up on the Seal Grey, meaning I would have to spend even more time cleaning, washing, and polishing the car.

    Warning! Seal Grey will not be available for MY2007! Replacment is Meteor Grey for all 997/997S as well as 987s.
    BTW, Lapis Blue will become special color(for more money!)...
    So, if you want your 997/997S(not 997Turbo-allready MY2007) in Seal Grey or Lapis Blue order it now or in very near future.

    I love Seal Grey especially with a nice contrasting interior (not black!!) but atlas grey as was pointed out by
    Mats is a much nice colour IMO
