    New Porsche Bucket seats available

    Porsche has finally put the new bucket seats on their German site. Price will be 1,416,10 Euros. Earliest availablility supposedly 11/2007.

    Here are pictures, looks great but I'm not sure if I'd want to get these retrofitted to mine. Could be really cost prohitive but then again I might end up doing it.

    i love these seats...but i think that they will costs a lot if retrofitted..i think around 5.000 Euros..

    maybe is better to sell the car and buy a new one with the right seats..

    Yes, those seats are standard in the GT2.

    Remind me of the seats in the gallardo/murcielago for some reason. Quite nice, looks like they fold so they should be a little more user friendly than the fixed back seats.

    These new buckets you guys wouldnt consider them in a Turbo would you? They're more for a GT2 or GT3 imo.

    Hmmmmm then again they would look sick in a Turbo Cab w/ a full Carbon Fiber interior huh?

    Would have to sit in them before I'd consider, have really gotton comfortable with the Ad SS.....They look like they're more for a GT3/GT2 ???? Are they even for the US, we have that air-bag/front seat sensor law thingy?

    They not only look great, they are very very comfortable, similar to the well known "GT3" seats from the 996. They're lighter too. According to one of our sources, these seats will be retrofittable due to a plugn'play setup regarding the airbags. I may go for them, they look very nice and like I said, they provide a great seating comfort too...unless your behind isn't big as a baloon.

    Please Rc inform us about availability price etc.. Because I want to buy these seats too...

    If I could get them in something other than leather, like a nice friction producing material, I would go for them. I wonder if they will have the adaptive option that my seats will that are coming in my TT soon though?

    I'm sure you will be able to get them with alcantara.

    Why would the GT2 seats have a "folding" function, as there are no back seats..
    I think these are just the optional Carrera/Turbo bucket seats which happen to be similar to the GT2 seats, no?

    Yeah,
    These are the GT2 seats. Attached is a screenshot of the GT2 webspecial regarding the seats.

    Yeah, makes it easier to throw stuff in the rear storage area and to clean the inside of the rear window

    One thing with these for North American buyers is that they will NOT be allowed to be used with 5/6 point belts at any PCA event. Starting next year folding seats (even with provisions for shoulder harnesses) cannot be used. It has to be a one piece seat...

    Am I correct in assuming we won't have to concern ourselves with all leather or painted seat backs options as opposed to the std. 'volcano silver" backs on the Adaptive seats? These look like the backs are color coordinated and the materials seem to be leather or CF

    I checked yesterday...the new GT2 seats will fit in the 996 Turbo. Availability is the problem...but I am very interested in getting them for my '02 Turbo.

    Does anyone know if they are fully adjustable??? I'm assuming they are manual and not power.....can you adjust side bolsters, recline, etc..................

    The new seats are manual. The only adjustable part is the backrest

    I was told the backrest does not adjust (it folds forward, but no recline adjustment)...

    I'm thinking of the ASS, not the GT2 buckets.
