Ok I am biased. I like the Boxster much more than the Tesla.
1. You can drive a Boxster to a race track,.drive it there and then drive it home right away. Tesla you need a flatbed to get it there and back or wait hours for it to recharge. If its cold, the battery will loose its last power even quicker. If its really cold the Boxster gains a little more power.
2. Boxster is as fast as its last drop of gas in the tank. Tesla loses speed ability as battery gets near the end of its charge.
3. Tesla motor sound and one speed gearbox is as sexy as driving a electric forklift in a warehouse.
Maybe Tesla should next have GPS controlled steering and braking so you dont have to do anything but ride in it. That is its logical next step.

So if speed is the big deal that I hear endless talk about hear then those people should choose the Tesla, if it is sound and rumble you should choose a car like mine.
I think it is an amazing accomplishment for Tesla to have built such a car and started a whole new industry. This is the first generation. Give electric's 10-20 years and things should be pretty impressive. Already charge times and locations are becoming less of a hassle.
Kind of embarrassing that Porsche is so far behind in this area given the HISTORY.

The Tesla technology is quit amazing and the speed rocks. For sure, the Boxster is still the better car, especially if you consider the price.
Anyway - I like to see how good the Tesla performs, this is setting a great benchmark to follow!

90 kg less (compared to the Boxster S) + lower center of gravity should make for a great driver's car.
The Spyder is the most sexy Porsche of today (south of the RS)
