5000 Posts. Time to move on? Having doubts.

I just passed the 5K postings mark.

I'd like to think I've been helpful and entertaining to you guys here.

Tell me: should I find another pastime in the midst of lots of pressure at work?

You know I got banned on another board because I didn't back down from a smart/know-it-all, nice/nasty, inner-circle "meangirl" at another board, right?

Just wondering if I'm worth anything here other than a convenient target for some with mild to nominal insecurities. I know I should keep my mouth shut, but then how will the issues be identified and even clarified?

_MOST OF ALL_ I'd like to __thank__ everyone for helping ME learn about and enjoy/"hate" (joking) these cars more.

    Thank you all.

Re: 5000K Posts. Time to move on? Having doubts.

Stick around. You've got plenty to pass on to others. And judging from the replys you get, you've got plenty of friends here, too.

Re: 5000K Posts. Time to move on? Having doubts.

5000K posts? Wow...you really have posted 5,000,000 times? That's definitely a new record! Well, like Mr. Circe said, stick around, you just may learn a thing or two from us "newbies."

Re: 5000K Posts. Time to move on? Having doubts.

You have not even got the engine broken in yet. You need a few more laps.

Re: 5000K Posts. Time to move on? Having doubts.

Always enjoy your posts - keep them coming. Nice to hear different opinions about life the universe and 911's!

Aw Geez!! Sorry. I edited it, got rid of the K. Thanks.

Re: 5000K Posts. Time to move on? Having doubts.

Work? That's even more impressive! .. I thought you did this full-time.

... It would probably be boring around here without you.

Re: 5000K Posts. Time to move on? Having doubts.

    MMD,

You're part of the Rennteam fabric ( pristine and creaseless , of course ).

    Congrats on 5k!

Re: 5000K Posts. Time to move on? Having doubts.

congrad MMD, keep up the good work...

Re: 5000K Posts. Time to move on? Having doubts.

I always enjoy your posts! When I open a new thread, I find myself looking for what MMD has to say about the subject. And I always enjoy your pics you frequently include with your posts. You must have an awesome collection of Porsche pics on your computer. I look forward to your next 5K. Happy posting.

Re: 5000K Posts. Time to move on? Having doubts.

don't even think about it.....we still have to discuss the 998, 999 etc....

Re: 5000K Posts. Time to move on? Having doubts.

Congrats man - I always find your posts thought-provoking and informative How can you possibly not keep going?

Re: 5000 Posts. Time to move on? Having doubts.

    Well done!!!

Re: 5000 Posts. Time to move on? Having doubts.

Convenient target?? I dunno about that... The only time I can recall that you really stepped in it with many of us was when you proposed that keeping your car filthy and neglected on-purpose somehow looked cool, purposeful and heroic...

Naw, don't have a thin skin. We ALL have our own obsessive compulsive traits, and it's diversity that makes the forum fun.

If I've said it once I've said it a thousand times, show me a chat-group that is always politically-correct, touchy-feely, prim and proper... and I'll show you a bunch of lame-asses being fake and boring.

Stick around... But don't let it compromise your work! (I should talk...)

I agree w/ Boss the dirty car thing was too much for us to handle & the whole whiping your dirty car with a towel instead of washing it was pretty bad advice plus your OCD fixation w/ taking a sawzol to fix fine German engineering was the nail in the coffen so maybe you should go?

Bwahahahhaha!! You thought I was serious......Dude, stop. Don't even think about leaving RENNTEAM. Your opinion is always appreciated. This place is better because you're around. Come on? Please don't go? Pretty Please w/ Cherry on top? If pressure is too much at work you can always take breaks from posting and come back when you have more time, that's what I do all the time. You're going to miss it if you decide to leave for good......You're going to stay right? Good.

Would love to hear about the drama on that other board though. What board/? How did you get banned/? What happened???????????

ps: Congrats on 5000! Maybe it would be a good idea if RENNTEAM had another level above VIP for posters w/ 5000 & more?

Re: 5000 Posts. Time to move on? Having doubts.

Now multiply the number of posts by the minutes it took to review the site and post. That will get your attention.

Hmmmmmm. That's interesting. Maybe MMD's is on to something, we should ALL probably leave when you hit 5000 messages. What do you think? 5000 times on average 10 minutes per message just from reading others messages and looking at pictures/thinking about what to say etc.. So 10 minutes X 5000 = 50,000 minutes divided by 60 minutes = 833 hours spent here. Divided by 24 hrs in a day and that's 34.7 (24 HR's straight) days. Or more realistically divided by 12 hrs per day so that would be 69.41 days spent on RENNTEAM. Wow!

Re: 5000 Posts. Time to move on? Having doubts.

Seeing the responses on here by those of you with well over 3,000 posts makes me depressed...no life, you guys! You should be out there making money for your addiction folks.

Just kidding, guys...I'm just as addicted to this place as the rest of you. I used to post frequently on M5board.com when I still had my M5 and having almost 8,000 posts is a testament to my insanity. The crazy part is that there are still folks on there with much more! Keep up the good work MMD, you've had me laughing in stitches with some of your posts.

And how are you accounting for the minutes you spend on rennteam in your timesheets Nick? These are non-billable hours...unless you are retained by the anti-Porsche, pro-Ferrari lobby

Re: 5000 Posts. Time to move on? Having doubts.

    Your getting warmer.

    MMD,

I am one who definitely hopes you stay, as I have learned a lot from you and from other Rennteamers like you. I didn't become a participant in this web site just to have everyone agree with me. I participate to learn and, hopefully, to pass on some information I have which I sometimes think will help others. You have done a lot of that.

Keep up the great work and please continue to participate in this site!!

    Jim

Re: 5000 Posts. Time to move on? Having doubts.

Awwwwwww! How about a group hug..., wait..., yeeeech..., forget the group hug.

    You guys are ALL great.

Funny how merely typing back and forth about cars makes friends outta people.

My problem now is multiplying 5000 by 5-8 minutes to get total time spent..., holy cow..., I'm afraid to do that calculation.

BTW, I'm truly sorry if I ever p*ssed anybody off or was irritating at any point (I never intended to do so). I also apologise if some of my comments seemed useless, misinformed or inane. I was never trying to be mean, always trying to offer correct information, and always tried to keep my opinions optional and labeled as opinions.

WOW..., I also want to thank my Family..., my Mother..., without whom I could not..., uh..., wait..., please stop..., GEEZ!... BTW, what's that four letter abbreviation..., oh yeah: STFU!

    Thanks guys!

Re: 5000 Posts. Time to move on? Having doubts.

    Congratulations.. great mark!

Anyway... rather spend time driving this cars instead of posting

Good to have you on board

Re: 5000 Posts. Time to move on? Having doubts.

Continue to post MMD. I have always enjoyed your opinions. You speak your mind and seem to be honest in your opinion. Congrats on 5000k.

Re: 5000 Posts. Time to move on? Having doubts.

MMD - You can't leave...no one else has the catalog of photos that you have. BTW, isn't there a rule that a pic of yourself should be posted at the 5K mark? At least an avatar - like maybe this one.

This is going to take to long. Please stay MMD and congrats on you 5,000 post. I heard the Rolex they give is pretty nice.

Re: 5000K Posts. Time to move on? Having doubts.

Congrats MMD - this place would miss you.

Always thought your signature sums up your approach.

Re: 5000K Posts. Time to move on? Having doubts.

Don't be upset, when suggesting a hug, if a member asks you whether you've showered recently.... You've built up a bit of a reputation
