I thinks it's not a bad thing that they have chosen for the V6 for this car. It isn't their top model and the car itself looks a lot like a sucessor to the beautiful 6 cilinder cars from the 1950's and 1960's when Maserati was a pretty succesful brand. (3500GT, Sebring, although those had a straight six)

I´ve been having V8 engines cars for many years now, and it´s not only about the power, it´s about the sound which is 50% of fun on a car 
, in some cars, even more. This is the kind of model a V8 makes even more sence

Up to now Maseratis don't drive as well as they look. Extra weight and not meticulous development in some areas.
I don't think this one will be any different, but if the good looks of the Concept are carried to the production version, it will sell.

That Maserati V6 is actually a pretty nice engine. Keep in mind that this car is positioned below the (upcoming) Gran Turismo, which will have a V8 (Turbo probably)

Amazing beauty - almost a huge pity to ride it! But it is like with the girls - if you not doing it, someone else will do it 
The Alfieri is too beautiful to be the lower V6 model. But Maserati may be preparing to come up with something even better looking for the V8 replacement!
When I saw this concept I stood looking for 15 minutes at it and I couldn't find a bad angle. Will the production version be so perfect? We have to wait and see.

Doesn´t make any sence to present this proto with an amazing V8 engine, and then drop a "lousy" V6 on it for the production model!! I don´t care if the V6 makes + 800Hp, I prefer the rumble of a V8, did you ear the thing roaring on that video
