    Re: OFFICIAL: 911 GT2 RS (2017)

Porsche has corrected to wheel arches on the GT2 .

Look at the difference the photos  GT2  RS vs my GT3 RS . There will be no more rubbing there .

Any mod of alignment on the GT3 RS does result in rubbing . Only factory alignment does not touch . Which is a non sense for a car that has every feature made so to be able to change the setting .

I am currently killing my back tire because of my new alignment  as it rubs agains the wheel arches under heavy load .

    That's nuts. Isn't this a safety hazard?

Not really, cause the suspension was adjusted away from factory settings.

Back then, the wheels were basically just almost too big to fit, Porsche has to worked some magic just to have them fit, they did but only at the stock factory settings, any deviation from that means there will be rubbing.

    GTO or RS?

    Re: OFFICIAL: 911 GT2 RS (2017)

To be honest, I would take the 488 GTO for various reasons (V8 alone would be a reason, the 488 V8 is really amazing and I'm really not that much into turbo charged engines anymore, also better/nicer interior).

The GT2 RS has a very martial looking exterior, very aggressive. If you are into this kind of stuff, the 488 GTO is probably more elegant but sporty at the same time.

Resale value after a couple of years? Good question. I'd say that both would be interesting but cannot really tell you.

    Re: OFFICIAL: 911 GT2 RS (2017)

Clearly RS - but I "partly" understand you're Passion for a GTO.

Most surely you will wait quite a while for you're GTO unless you have a huge history with them - so IF you can get a GT2RS take that for summer and keep yr allocation for the GTO to arrive. GT2RS is sold out - I saw that in the Porsche intern System yesterday so even if they open the books again in Summer 18 for a small batch to be added I would not let that one slip

I would get both as well...if I could...true but keep in mind that you need to keep the GT2 RS for at least one year and you never know how the markets will "honor" the GT2 RS. Everyone says "get it, value will rise" but at my wealth level, I wouldn't risk it. If someone has the money though and doesn't care about risks, go for it. Definitely worth it.

As far as I know, this is not something the dealerships can control, this is mandated by Porsche. Careful!

You should check twice with the "rules", otherwise you could end up on that infamous list...

well - the first batch THEY receive or the first Batch produced ? If yes surely you have a tough choice. However, I have driven the speciale extensively and loved it but had zero emotions in the 488 - and latest YouTube Videos Show also that the 720S has the Ferrari covered - but even if Ferrari builds another weapon like the speciale - I personally would tend to the halo models from Porsche or McLaren.

I was never a fan of the 488 but out of all turbo charged cars on the market, the 488 is the best and most emotional in my opinion. Unless of course you love McLaren or Porsche engine fart sounds, then... Smiley Smiley The GT2 RS doesn't really sound much better than the current 991.2 Turbo S, believe it or not. Minor difference at certain rev figures due to the titanium exhaust system which never made it (optional) to the Turbo S due to emissions/sound regulations. Smiley

One thing is true though: "Halo" cars of certain sports car manufacturers can be very special for owners. They definitely increase their street rep. Smiley Smiley Smiley

    No, this is wrong information.

They will make as many they can until summer 2018.

    2000? Maybe, maybe even more.

    3000 or more? Unlikely.

Weissach package equipped cars will be very seldom since this package will only be available with the second "batch" of production next year.
