    P zero rosso's available for carrera gt

    Pirelli has P zero rosso's available in the OEM sizes and they are N rated (porsche approved). Has anyone had these on their CGT? Did any new CGT's come with these tires from Porsche? Could it be that these tires are much stickier than the PS2's? The wear rating is much higher than the PS2's. According to tirerack.com the wear rating for the Pirelli is 60 and the wear rating for the PS2's is 220, meaning the PS2's will last almost 4X as long. Could the rosso's have a semi slick coumpond?

    I would double check with Tire Rack to make sure the "60" is not a typo, because the majority of all the other sizes for the Rosso are either rated 160 or 220.
    Remember that the wear rating is set by each manufacturer and is a relative number. You can't compare a 220 from Pirelli to a 220 from Michelin and assume they will wear at the same rate.

    I would stick with the PS2s, by far the best overall tire out there for warm weather.

    I though the same thing until I read this article http://www.roadandtrack.com/article.asp?section_id=3&article_id=5015 P zero tires with the same 60 wear rating and R compound ruber. Seems the 60 rating might not be a typo.

    I remember back when the 996 GT2 was released that some cars came with P zero rosso's. Mine did not. Back then I remember RC stating that the rosso's for the 996 GT2 were specifically made with a very sticky compound, close to a semi slick. If these CGT tires do in fact have a 60 wear rating, they are most likely R compound tires.

    yes, they are N rated.
