    New Bluetooth interface for the 997TT

    Hey guys,

    I just came across this thread on 6speedonline a couple days ago about a new Bluetooth interface from Nav-tv.com called Tooki which works directly with the PCM using the internal phone module capabilities. What that essentially means is that you would be able to get the Tooki to replace the phone module that you got as an option for your car. For those of you that didn't get the phone module, no problem, this would've replaced it anyways. Connects via the MOST system and interfaces directly with the PCM phone module. It can be used in conjunction with either the Denison Gateway 500 iPod or the one from Nav-tv. I think it's a VERY slick solution but the only downside is that it costs more than the iPod interfaces at $750. I picked one up yesterday at my local installer and will be getting it installed soon.

    Quite expensive! what's wrong with a bluetooth headset, I mean how many phone calls do you guys answer while driving?

    Since I'm deaf and wear a hearing aid and use a Cochlear Implant to help me hear, it'd be impossible for me to use one of those headsets. Speakerphones work very well for me so this Bluetooth setup would be the best solution for me.

    I'm very interested to hear how the Tooki works out for you. I tried using a $70 BlueAnt Supertooth Light bluetooth speakerphone in my turbo without much luck... The car noise is too high and the noise reduction is too low, so I can barely understand what they're saying and they can't understand what I'm saying either.

    I use a Parrot. It has ISO connectors and just patches into the PCM w/o much hassle

    The NICE thing that I can see about the Tooki unit is that it actually acts as if it was the OEM phone module from Porsche so that all the buttons, features, etc are accessible from the PCM. I read that thread I posted from 6speedonline and wow, I'm impressed. I'll definitely let you guys know how it goes for me.

    The Tooki is actually a parrot with a MOST interface.

    No prob, Duffy. I'm not able to get it done until I get my new Techart steering wheel in a few weeks though so maybe someone else will beat me.

    Why a new TechArt wheel? Seeing the one you have now cost me plenty. LOL!!!!

    Long story. Basically what happened is that my CF portion started cracking. Turns out Techart was using a type of inner cork material that expands when temperatures reach 130 degrees or higher and that causes cracks to develop. Don't worry, they've managed to come up with a solution for that so no more cracking issues. That's what they're sending to me now.
