    @ ADias: I think the "drama" in the BMW only appears so because the passenger has some problems to hold the camera

    Also I think the BMW driver did actually the faster lap - 8:15 BTG compared to what looks like a 9:00 or so for the Corvette (hard to tell exactly for the C6 due to the film-cuts at the beginning). Anyway - a very enjoyable vid also.

    The car obviously had the same brakepads installed as the presscars.

    LoL; approximately 9,000 laps : 20 years = 450 laps p.a.
    Still doesn't sound like the "regular tourist-driver" to me. I know only few hardcore NoS-fans who do 400 or 500 laps p.a., but they do exist...

    Not sure about the policy re filming in the Ring taxi

    Re the squeaking brakes: could be that they use a kind of race pads

    I'm not much of a regular poster at all. I am of course, a regular spectator. I feel it's much better to sit back and watch the action unfold...

    I had to post this message because this squeaking has been bugging me ever since the press car videos of the red M3 came out a couple of months ago - I mean squeaking brakes are such basic and fundamental 'quirks' and should only appear once the pads need changing, not after a few miles from the factory! (Not that I care in any event; respect it hugely but just not a fan of the new M3)

    The GM C6 video I posted is not a flying lap. The C6 can do better than that. But it should be the Z06 7:40 number that defines the marque.

    No. The Z06 is not comparable to the M3; the Z06 is better. What I was saying is that each marque should be judged by its flagship product - BMW by the M3 and Corvette by the Z06.
