2014 F1 prediction
Well, the new season is almost here.
I think I am going with a dark horse, Nico Rosberg, to win the Championship.
Early testing indicated the Mercedes engine is the one to beat, and new regulations seems to favour smooth driver over aggressive drivers, Nico will have the edge over Lewis. I think Lewis is gonna struggle this season as he is too hard on the car, while he has the most raw speed of any driver, his stye is just too much for the 2014 cars to handle.
McLaren could be due for a bounce back year. Button is another smooth driver that can take advantage of the new rules. He might come 2nd.
In my mind Kimi could finish 3rd if Ferrari can produce a half decent race car. He is smooth and consistent, may not have the car to win races but he will rack up points race after race. Alonso is the more aggressive of the 2, so his fate is like Lewis', if he can switch to a smoother driver and still post good times then he has a chance.
Red Bull, IF they can solve the KERS puzzle, they could be competitive, but history has told us KERS system is not Red Bull's strong suit, they have traditionally treat it as an after thought before, but since this year the KERS system is a bigger part of the package, they need to get it working or else they will be left in the dust. Renault's engine development troubles just add salt to the wound.
On a side note, just received an invitation from McLaren to purchase paddock club tickets to the Canadian Grand Prix. Debating whether to go or not.
