    PAG isn't the only one with odd priorities!

    In the Fall issue of Jaguar magazine, in response to a reader's question asking what happened to the F-Type sports car development, Jaguar responded," ...The development has been put on hold. To compete effectively in world markets, the company needs to utilize the full resources of its engineering departments to develop competitive diesel engines." ! Well, that should make for an interesting F1 effort in the future!

    I'm surprised that Jag. doesn't terminate the F-Type project and start working on a new SUV .

    Jaguar

    Personally, I think that Jaguar has serious image problems.
    Their luxury models are a big too expensive and don't offer enough for the buck. And the new entry-level models are partially based on the Ford Mondeo which doesn't make them better cars either.
    It is strange: Jaguar never had such a good quality in their entire past. But sales seem to have slowed down. Why?

    ...because of lack of emotion! the X and S type -- as you already stated -- are nothing more than a repackaged mondeo. even available with FWD. jaguar enthuisasts loved their cars for being very british: elegant, handcrafted (at least in terms of quality) and a little bit strange.

    jag faces some more problems: former PAG boss reitzle wanted that the XJ should be build in aluminium (like audis) -- now they face some engineering problems with this (due to lack of experience) and had to shift the XJ release date from 2002 to early/mid 2003. a controller's nightmare i suppose.
