    Emissions Test- Porsche Cars North America

    PCNA has offered to pay me to do a vehicle emissions test on my 2006 C2S. The test involves connecting my car to a laptop computer via the vehicle"s data port and extracting emissions related data. Should take less than 15 minutes.
    Anyone have any ideas about what is going on ?

    Audi does that as well. They want emission samples of cars used by customers. Unfortunately, I don't know who they report the statistics too.

    As long as it's PCNA, I wouldn't worry about it. If they wanted to fish something out, they could do it when you get error codes checked at the annual maintenance, so this is probably just a different data point for them.

    Now if CARB or the EPA wanted it, then I'd ask a lot of questions.

    Do it. PCNA is gathering data for the Porsche engineers. I guess they want to make sure that P-owners are not having problems when it comes to subsequent emissions inspections, where required. Luckily, I am not (yet, that is) living in an area that requires annual emissions tests.

    P.S. I have found that dealing with PCNA is a pretty good experience. I had a certificate of ownership that was not correctly made out. I contacted PCNA, and I sent them a picture, taken with my cell phone, of the engine type and they sent me a new and revised certificate of ownership at no cost.
