996 TT tire recs?
Hi all,
I have an '01 996 TT and took it for a fun weekend in the Hocking Hills and now the rears are at the wear bars on the inside (guess I wasn't driving hard enough!). Anyway, I have the stock rims and do drive the car in the rain. So I am willing to trade a little bit of pure dry grip for better wet grip and hydroplaning resistance. I want to stick with Porsche approved tires. I have used Bridgestone S-02/03 in the past on other cars and liked them. Has anyone used the S-02 A (N3)? Tirerack had two positive and two very negative reviews on it. What other tires should I consider?
The fronts (and worn rears) are P-Zero Asym., but the fronts still have a lot of tread left. Is it bad to put other Porsche approved tires such as s-02a's on the rears?
What about the Yokohama AVS?
Finally, does anyone have link or list of 996TT Porsche approved tires?
TIA!!
PS - I accidentally posted this originally on the 996 non TT forum-sorry.
