Just kidding...maybe your kid sleeps like an angel and you're going to enjoy the first months as well. If not, tell the mother you have some important Rennteam meetings to attend to.

I doubt that. Mine is in 2 years now,and still he wakes 3 - 4 times /night,and if you don't pick him up, you have to listen to his crying ( very very load) for more than an hour,so be cool and pick him up gently.....

Strangely first three nights he slept from 1AM to about 8AM, no complaints there, however sleeping on a couch in the hospital was not my preferred activity! Just arrived home with him for the first time, that promises to be much more pleasant!

Just made the purchase for wife's estate/family car, a lightly used Alpina B3 Allrad (hate the Allrad part but I suppose it's safer).

So you've got two alpina : a D3 and a B3 ? Or have you sold the D3 ?
The D3 is a company car, but yes it's still there! They're great products IMO Alpina's, no need to look further for a daily!

Which one is the best in your opinion ?
I do like the exhaust on those Alpina's. I wish I could retrofit those pipes on a regular 435i.

I'll make a comparison! My ideal spec would be a combination of both, an RWD B3 with the LSD, unfortunately nobody seems to order them this way so I'm unable to find them 2nd hand.
Really, you like those exhausts? They're way too bigin my opinion. A C63 can pull that off, but for a 3.0 6cyl it's a bit much...
Alpina used to be much more subtle with their exhausts, I preferred it that way. I have ordered a catless downpipe on the side though, because I remain a child at heart and I like it loud.

So you are saying you prefer the diesel engine over the petrol ?
The Diesel probably feels more powerful...and costs less to drive (fuel cost).

I just don't like diesels . I made the mistake with my Q7 . It is nice at the beginning but very quickly you get over the first '' good'' impression . I do not like the short rev span , nor the way the torque is delivered, nor the lag , nor the sound ! 2nd time I got caught by the diesel ...... hopefully I will never fall for that anymore
