Good question, since F1 is made of fighting I prefer overtaking in the race, so I hope only that Ferrari will be able to fight back in order to make the race more interesting. I have always hated also in Ferrari the team orders, but with them both mercedes and ferrari won and mercedes today are winning, so probably I m just a romantic motor sport guy

We need 2 dnf’s from Hamilton to spice it up.. A bit doubtful though...

Ferrari
Both, the team with their wrong tire decision and Vettel with his driver’s error during his lap, blew it today. Vettel has to take this home if he still wants a chance in getting the crown, and I don’t see this happening.

I feel so bad for Ricciardo. In Monaco he was the man, but he hasn't had any luck after... and on top of it all, he played his cards a bi silly with his move to Renault, and now he is cursing the Renault engine, knowing that he'll have to deal with it in the coming season as well...
The post Quali interview with Max was interesting, he stated that at Suzuka, "the asphalt always looks much wetter than it really is, so I asked the guys in the pit to wait a bit and take the intermediates off"... if a "Rookie" like Max is capable of such razor sharp analyses of the situation and act on it, why isn't a multiple world champion like Seb?!?
Of course I am viewing things a bit through orange-tinted glasses, but still... Max really keeps surprising me time and time again.
Porsche, separates Le Mans from Le Boys
An easy win fir Mercedes this morning.

Even German commentators (RTL +) called it a desperate move from Vettel and said he only was to blame for the accident. He knows Max won't give up without a fight, so the move could have never worked.
Gauss:Yes, and when Kai Ebel told Vettel during his interview that "the experts" saw it differently too, Vettel replied that they were wrong because on TV you get the wrong picture

I am a Ferrari supporter, SV is so shit I'm beginning to wonder if he was not just lucky at Red Bull
I'd been a fan of his, but I too have been thinking the same. Consider that with equal cars, Ricciardo was already giving him a hard time at Red Bull. And if we now compare Ricciardo's to Verstappen's performance, also with equal equipment... By transitivity, we would have to conclude that SV is at least one level below the best drivers out there. So yes, his run at RBR may have been a fortuitous alignment of several factors, not any special ability or talent on his part.

I think Lec will challenge him in a way that Kimi has not been able to, he will buckle and ultimately leave Ferrari moaning as he does so !!!
I think SV is a very good driver but he is prone to mistakes because he breaks under pressure. He is not mentally strong. In RBR he had many start to finish victories without having to struggle too much in a clearly superior car..
LH is a top driver on a higher level to SV and a cold blooded competitor without any serious flaws on the circuit. In all competitions he participated from Karts, F3, GP2 to F1 he shone immediately. Some people don't like him for his culture and lifestyle but that is something different. Personally I think even in that respect LH brings something fresh to the clinical world of racing.
And let's be honest, Mercedes is definitely a superior establishment to Ferrari in terms of tech but mostly management and organization.

BjoernB:.....its a engineering championship - not a drivers championship (latest interview Rosberg & Flavio Briatore) and he's spot on
Partially disagree with this statement, if it was just a engineering championship and not a drivers championship Kimi should be ahead of Seb in pts and Bottas should be ahead of Lewis too. There is an element of driver ability regardless of how good the deleivered article is

I seriously doubt that. Hamilton has had a flawless season, while Vettel can’t cope with the stress. Hamilton is way more consistent. A lot of people are thinking now that Vettel just got lucky with his 4 titles...He’s definitely a quick driver but all the stars need to align for him to capitalize, and that’s what is meant by “having been lucky

Gauss:Imagine if Vettel hadn’t done all his errors this season, where would he be in the championship now? Drivers still count, but not as much as we would want, that’s for sure.
Yes, but driver factor only counts for the negative, like errors will make you loose races, but not for the positive, talent in F1 will not make you win races, the car you drive will,
Bottom line which is irrefutable, when in the last 10 years has the best car on the grid not won the driver's championship? not once.
Yet we have seen not-the-best-F1-driver win the championship most of the time in those 10 years, Button, Rosberg, Vettel, etc (over Hamilton, Alonso, Ricciardo, etc)
As BjoernB says, its an engineering championship, not a driver's championship.

Hi guys thanks for the interesting input
Throt and Carlos are two of my favorite characters and contributors on this site, I always appreciate their views !
On this occasion I must go with Gauss, Vettel is a good driver but IMO not in Hamiltons league !!
Maybe Alonso with an equally equipped car could maintain with him but no one else !!
Ferrari had the pace but Vettel cocked it up in Germany and since then the whole Co has had misfortune including the sad passing of Sergio M !!!
Thanks gents for your views and insight !!!

it does not matter if you sit in Mercedes 1 or Mercedes 2 car - point is that there are equally good drivers sitting in cars that are miles away from a Mercedes and Ferrari performance. Hamilton would be equally "bad" driving a Renault etc....- and if only 2 brands can win with a lucky punch for Redbull - it's very dull for viewers......
Mad Max would spank the butt off any car on the grid and be the quickest of all the drivers. That dude is a pure racing driver..
