I've asked around and the answer seems to be no. The only option I can see is to remove the cluster, take the rings off and have them painted in the aluminium finish. I haven't been brave enough to do this though. I changed the centre console surround for the aluminium one and this brightens the dash up a lot. I hardly notice the instrument rings now to be honest.

I bought the part from Gert at Carnewal.com. He sends it by Fedex and has excellent service. It is basically the plastic surround but covered with the same real aluminium that is used on the gearshift surround so it blends very well. It is a genuine Porsche part but you need to tell him whether or not you have heated seats as the there are two different parts - one has the blanks included if you don't have heated seats.
I got the front and rear console surrounds but you can only use the rear one if your car has the storage cubby fitted. I think the V6 has a large blanking plate as standard but due to cock ups on delivery, my dealer took the cubby out of a new S that he had and had his technician fit the aluminium surrounds for me. He used a little plastic spatula type tool and it took him about 5 minutes to do both trims. A very worthwhile upgrade IMHO.
