    Gallardo V8

    Based on Autoweek magazine that I received today, there is a V8 version of Gallrdo in the works the Lamborghini will talk about it at Frankfurt Autoshow. They'll be using the 4.2L V8 in A8.

    Doesn't make any sense to me since AUDI approved the Le Mans "R9" to be built as a V8 and may be later on V10 .

    Weight/balance/price issue? Maybe a marketing issue as well to capture people like me thinking of the next thrill on four wheels as my income level increases?

    That engine shows up everywhere. Isnt the Porsche Cayenne V8
    part of its development? Then there is the Tuareg and Phaeton and the Panamera.

    What I've heard is that the CT engine is the RS6 V8 turbo but somewhat reworked.

    Ron - I think you and Jim are both right, because the RS6 motor is the same Audi 4.2L V8 from the A6 with the turbos added...

    Such a shame Porsche wont spend a few extra R and D bucks to develop a wholly new engine. All this Porsche/VW/Audi parts sharing has got me down.
