    F1 2006 Qualifying

    The F1 teams have proposed two different qualifying formats for 2006.

    Proposal Two is quite interesting. Never seen anything like that. Unforunately I don't think it's a good idea, but it sounds like it could be very entertaining.

    Hmmm. proposal #1 IMO.

    I say let them make restrictions on engine size and aerodynamics, perhaps even BHPs. But the more flexibility and room for manuevering on the tactical level the better.
    Let them fuel and refuel again and again. Let them change tires, heck let them change underwear ten times a race.

    Both are too far-fetched IMO, why not revert to the older format where your best lap counts no matter when you drove it?

    Both of these proposals are not very economically viable for the lower end teams. These rules are more circa 1980s to early 90s when there was more cash influx in formula 1. What would these rules do to teams like Red Bull and Minardi...
