    Radiator fans stopped working



    Just had the car for 140 miles. Wasn't too hot in the night and suddenly noted the water temp was close to the red mark. I managed to pull off in a safe place, when the engine temp light just came on. The car ended up having to be towed back to the service centre. Cause for this: radiator fans stopped working somehow, even though with new ones installed that the tech is still looking into. Was it gremlin in the management systems? Did anyone have a similar issue?

    According to the service advisor from Porsche, it was the problem of the control unit...!!
    Any friends have similar/ other problem on your new Boxster?

    Nothing wrong with my girl but the seemingly common broken center dash vent flaps. *jinx*

    Sorry to hear about your troubles. On the other hand, best to get any weaknesses out of the way early and fixed under warranty.

    @www .. just had a boxster for the weekend now .. sort of a testdrive and yes, i had the same problems as u had. not that intense, but the BC told me that the fans for the engine stopped and do not work anymore. then the red light of the temperature control lid up .. after 30 sec. everything was fine again .. this happend 2 times per day on average .. ???

    as it was not my car, i cannot tell u more ..

    btw. i love the new boxster quite a lot .. had a boxster S before and now looking for some new toy. anyhow, have to check out the 987S coz the little 987 seemed a little bit weak to me. BUT: the suspension (PASM), the gearbox and especially the sound are way better than on my old 986S i think ..

    the service centre just told that my car is ready for pick up and i am going to get it back on Sat. See what the service team have done and their checking result!! ^^
