Cars with the non-MP3 PCM cannot receive the updated PCM?
I've been talking with my dealer about this MP3 thing for a while since by the time my car arrived at the dealer, cars were rolling out of the factory with the new PCM.
So, he admitted that my case was somewhat special and they might be able to trade it up at no cost for a MP3 enabled PCM unit.
When he asked that a customer wanted to trade the PCM with the new 2006 version to the Porsche Iberica representative (he did not mention if I was or not going to pay for it so it's really not a matter of saying something just to save a few bucks) he was told that it's not possible to exchange the PCM from 2005 models to the one from 2006 models.
I said that I find this very odd since the only change that we can see is the PCM unit itself and an updated DVD disk.
So, does anyone asked about this possibility (even one willing to pay for the new unit) and if so what answer did you get?
RC, what's your opinion about this?
Thanks,
