    Went for a ride in the RUF 3800S

    I went by the RUF dealership in town to get my car tech inspected for an upcoming DE (thanks guys!). They had a new 3.8L X51 conversion for the 987S. WOWOWOWOWOWOW! That car is a bloody rocket! Close to 400 HP (with the RUF tuning that goes with it) and that car felt within a gnat's arse of my old 996TT in acceleration. Dang that car hauls butt. Hey! But my car still SOUNDS better!!! lol

    PORSCHE!!! HELLO?!?!?!? BUILD THE PROPER 987/CAYMAN AND THEY WILL COME!!! ARE YOU LISTENING, YOU CLOSE-MINDED, 911-WORSHIPPING WEENIES?!?!? lol

    Sorry dude but it is still a Cayman, build it anyway you want and be as open minded as you want, it is not and it will never be a 911. If you want a steak don't settle for a cheeseburger

    I do hope you are kidding. If not, I refer you to pretty much every car rag in existence that has crowned the cayman as the best handling (non GT) Porsche. Given commensurate ponies, the mid-engined chassis is superior. Witness the CGT. And the Cayman looks so much better than a 911, but then that is personal taste.

    So, to summarize, besides for posing, you MUST be joking.

    Please, Not that old debate again.
    If you want a "911 versus Boxster/Cayman battle" just sift thru the past threads on this very issue.
    It all boils down to history, legacy and politics versus physical facts and real-life handling.

    But you're right. The Cayman/Boxster will never be a 911.
    It all depends on which car you see as the steak, and which you see as the cheeseburger.

    The only joke is the Cayman Yes it is a personal taste. I don't mean any disrespect to Cayman owners I just don't care for it's looks. Yes it's a gr8 car and a gr8 performer but just won't do it for me

    Not at all my friend. I might like grapes better than oranges but it does not mean grapes are any better. Cayman is an awsome car. Porsche builds awsome cars period and like you said the beauty is in the eye of beholder. I like your style and I like the way you make your point, nicely and professionly. afterall we are all blood brothers on this forum

    It was a customer's car; already purchased. It was blue with that rich, reddish leather interior color. Very nice. I have seen in on quite a few 987s and it is a gorgeous combo.

    Wow-sounds awesome. I actually have never seen that color combo but it sounds really nice.

    I don't think he was getting a body kit or anything, so it would be a total sleeper. Talk about surprising the crap out of people. lol He could definitely collect some "pinks".
