Couple of new 997 options in photos I found....sorry, only this one poor quality pic of the Alum shifter/brake :

With the aluminum look console it's too much brightwork IMHO, but I think it would look great combined with black leather, carbon fiber or standard black center console.

(Option Code # DAD) Gear Lever/Handbrake Alu./Lthr In aluminum: gear lever (partially;4.1a) including milled in shift pattern, inlay in handbrake lever(4.3a)with Porsche logo. Smooth leather finish in interior color; handbrake lever, handbrake finisher. Aluminum look paint finish: handbrake finisher $1,680

Option XRR: 19" Carrera Sport Wheel on Slate Grey Metallic
(rotten cloudy day, but I love the combo).

Really too bad the photos don't show a little better the XRR wheels' extra 1/2 inch width on each wheel or those wicked 305 rear tread sections.

XXR II. Anyone else agree that these offsets fill the wheel wells a bit better? ...at least it looks that way to me from these cruddy photos.

With wider rear tires/rims and a different offset...no wonder.

BTW: the front rims are wider too.

My guess is that these wheels + tires weigh MORE than their other 19 inch stock counterparts, and that they probably diminish performance overall. I'm hesitant about bigger tires on the rear increasing a tendancy of 911's to understeer. There is already PLENTY of grip with the standard 19's, and the 911 does a wonderful job of transferring it's torque to the road (that's how it compares to the 'Vette in acceleration despite a huge torque disadvantage), so the fatter tires really aren't needed in the first place.
