    Looks like a mid-engined TT. That's not a bad thing. It'll be interesting when that thing comes out. Especially if they put the RS4 engine in it.

    R8 engine update-there will be two engines at first:
    4.2L 420hp from RS4
    and
    5.2L 520hp not from Gallardo but, high reving version of new S6/S8 V10 engine with FSI etc.
    Preview is at Paris 2006...

    cool car, but the success will hinge on the pricing... the z06 and the 997 will be the upper and lower band... more than 100000 Euro for the 520 hp version wont work IMO ..

    This car suspension and AWD are based on Gallardo...
    Price will start around 95000Euro. To much for Audi?
    Depending how you look at this car...
    According to Audi R8 will be(or is) in Gallardo/F430 class(for less money)...

    Why would Audi build a car to eat the Gallardo's lunch? Especially, when the Gallardo isn't selling all that well.

    Why do they have to make their cars 4 wheel drive. it just adds weight.? can anywone tell me why all these companies are going awd?

    Mostly for safety and stability and hadleing of the car in high speed.

    Of course, their intention is really to upstage the Porsche boys and girls. And to a certain extent, they'll succeed. However, the unintended consequence will be a little nibbling at the mini Lambo. That's a shame.

    The Gallardo is the best selling Lamborghini of all time, sold more Gallardo's in 2 years than Diablo sold in 10 years!

    They wont need good gallardo sales if they sell Lamborghini anyway. the homegrown problem of R8 and Gallardo overlap will give Mr. Wiedeking and his CFO - who sit on the VW board - an excellent excuse as to why to dispose of Lamborghini overall... and Mr. Winterkorn will like that too as he gets paid for the Audi, not the Lambo performance!
