Changing radio stations from steering wheel

Just picked up the new tt. Been going through the 1" thick manual to figure out the damn computer. Can't seem to change radio stations from the steering wheel. I can make coffee, see how much air to put into the right rear tire, and find an Italian restaurant 150 miles from home... but I can't change from one pre-set radio station to another. Any help?

This car looks gorgous and no - you cant change this stations with the wheel. It suck's! One thing I always missed!

Re: Changing radio stations from steering wheel

Same here , my previous DD was a 645Ci and coming from I-drive (great!!) to PCM is a big disappointment.
And not being able to change pre-set stations from the wheel is annoying.

Re: Changing radio stations from steering wheel

sure its possible to change the radiostations throuhg the scrolls of the mf steering wheel. i do it all the time.
it does help to "block" some unwanted radiostations out!

So Nick, tell us whats the trick?

Re: Changing radio stations from steering wheel

Here's the best I've come up with:

    -Go to the 'Audio' Page.
    -Scroll down to 'Station List'
-Then the radio will automatically play the highlighted station as you scroll through the list.
-This works very well for me, with the only downside being there are more stations than you have stored on the number keys.

    Hope this helps.

this is exactly what i ment!!!
but be sure to go to Settings and tick all the stations, you dont want to have in this stationlist!

Re: Changing radio stations from steering wheel

hmmmm - Thanks Guys! I know this station list, trick. Would just be nice to set it to the programmed stations. Further on, you always have to scroll to the station list - kind of annoying.

So - still some room for Porsche to improve.

Re: Changing radio stations from steering wheel

Personally, I didn't like the multifunction steering wheel of my last 997. Only found the volume control to be helpful. Also it's awkward if you have the tip.

With that said it can be made to work as described above.

Re: Changing radio stations from steering wheel

I see no point in adding entertainment controls to the steering wheel. If one is adding controls to the wheel, do it as Ferrari does (mannetino), moving the PASM and SC buttons there.

For me - I use much more often the entertainment controls than the PASM, SC buttons. Best solution would be like BMW offers, self controllable/programmable buttons.

i simply love my MF wheel (exept the diameter could be a bit smaller), one can change virtually everything in the PCM through the buttons. Just takes some getting use to, as most electronics.

    cheers

Re: Changing radio stations from steering wheel

I regret getting the CF MF wheel. Only useful for volume control, the steering wheel is way too big and the CF/leather joint area (where they meet) is annoying. Last MF I get. I do like the look of CF, but for my 998 I'll go with all leather.
