    well said that man - picked mine up Friday, absolutely love the colour

    compared to the black one i rejected there is no contest (and i've always had black cars)

    Solid Black no question. Bassalt looks like there is a layer of dust over regular black paint. When the solid black is clean it blows every other color away in my opinion.

    Hmmm, what about the top though.

    The black seems to go best with the Alu-look bits IMHO.

    Still, I'm very happy with my choice.

    I beg to diasagree. Basalt glints in the sunlight like no other. Solid balck shows up every speck of dust available, whereas Basalt looks the business.

    Sure basalt has a great shine, but it just ain't black enough for me The solids have that jet black feel that's hard to resist IMHO

    I'm a solid black fan as well, wax it with Swizol and you cannot beat that color!

    What is this Swizol... i went to check out there sight.. Does one need to buy wax that expensive to have a nice shine? I do admit not to be a wax fan at all....

    You don't have to go with their custom wax which is like $2,000 US....Porsches should be fine using the Zuffenhausen Swissol Wax....

    I read recently that solid black was far more popular in the States, however Basalt is the king in the UK. Solid black has poorer residuals over basalt over here. May be something to do with the weather, but I think a clean waxed basalt in the sunlight is incredible.

    Personal opinion, saving seen my solid black one in the showroom i wasn't that enamoured - yes it was glossy but all the lines of the 987 were lost.

    I'm so much happier with Atlas.

    Basalt is OK, but it never looks black, and when in the sun the brown tinges come through and make it look even less black.
