Sure basalt has a great shine, but it just ain't black enough for me The solids have that jet black feel that's hard to resist IMHO

I read recently that solid black was far more popular in the States, however Basalt is the king in the UK. Solid black has poorer residuals over basalt over here. May be something to do with the weather, but I think a clean waxed basalt in the sunlight is incredible.
