    flat tire/tire sealant

    If anyone has had to use the tire sealant please let me know their experience. My car is sitting in the garage with a flat rear tire. I noticed a nail in the tire and decided to pull it out since it looked like it was only lodged in sideways. The tire went completely flat. The manual does not recommend using the sealant after the nail has been removed. Should I just flatbed the car?

    I would flatbed car to the dealer. Having that rim sitting on the tire may cause it to fail even if the sealant were to allow you to infate the tire.

    You could jack up the car to take pressure off the rim/tire in the mean time. Don't know if you'll need a new tire though. I had a screw in my rear tire and I pumped it up with the screw in still, and drove it to a tire store. They put in a high-speed patch since the "hole" was in the treads. That was 3000 miles ago.

    Exactly what i did, except the tyre had to be sent away for the vulkcanising of the patch, so i ended up buying a neew tyre as a temporary measure. Now back on the originals (one with the patch) and no issues after 1500 miles.

    I avoided using the sealant, as some trye dealers will not repair a tyre once its have sealant/foam used on it.

    At least i only have to buy one new tyre at the end of the year to go with the one stored in the garage.
